A Visual History Of Star Wars Posters

Film posters, especially Star Wars posters have evolved over the years. Not just in amount but in type.

The very first film back in 1977 had a couple of variants depending on country. The same goes for its teaser. I’m focusing on UK and some US only as there are too many world wide.

As time went on and the franchise grew so did the type of poster. When the prequel trilogy began, Lucasfilm introduced character posters. Since then, the type of poster has expanded depending on how you are seeing the film. IMAX, 3D and Dolby all have their own posters now alongside the normal 2D version.

Below are as many of the different posters that I could find. I know some are missing and I will update hen I can.
