With ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ rapidly approaching I’ve been thinking lots about Star Wars.
Tonight I’ve focussed on starfighters and chosen my Top 10 which you can find below.
10- The ETA 2 Actis-Class Light Interceptor, also known as the Jedi Starfighter. Flown by both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker09- The Incom UT-60D U-Wing Starfighter as seen during The Battle of Scarif.08- The N1 Naboo Starfighter. A young Anakin Skywalker flew one of these during the Trade Federation’s Invasion of Naboo.07- The Kuat Systems RZ-1 A-Wing interceptor. This was used by the Alliance during The Battle of Endor. The Resistance used an updated version 30 years later.06- The Incom T-70 X-Wing. Used by the Resistance, and was flown by Poe Dameron and Snap Wexley during The Battle of Starkiller Base.05- The Incom T-65 X-Wing. This was the main fighter used by The Alliance to Restore the Republic and took part in many battles including The Battle of Scarif and The Battle of Yavin.04- The Incom T-47 Airspeeder, which was heavily modified by Alliance engineers to work in the harsh, icy conditions of the planet Hoth. They became known as Snowspeeders for that reason.03-The Corellian Engineering Corp CR90 Corvette. They are also known as a Blockade Runners. Prior to The Battle of Yavin, House Organa of Alderaan owned a CR90 which was known as the Tantive IV.02- The Millennium Falcon. The Falcon is a Corellian YT1300f light freighter that was originally designated YT-1300 492727ZED. After being owned by the Galactic Republic, it then fell into the ownership of Lando Calrissian Lando eventually lost it to Han Solo in a game of Sabacc. This was the ship that made the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs (actually it was nearer 13 but Han rounded down).01- The Koensayr Manufacturing Corp BTL-B Y-Wing Starfighter. One of the most versatile starships, it could be modified for different roles including assault fighter, bomber and fighter bomber. It could also be modified to have 2 seats. Y-Wings normally have armoured plating covering all of the engine, however, Rebel engineers removed the plating to make the craft lighter and more manoeuvrable.
